Minister Micah Stampley (born September 7, 1971) is a gospel singer, songwriter, choir director born in Los Angeles, California, but grew up in Baton Rouge, Louisiana because that was where his parents moved to shortly after he was born. He began his music career right from an early age 4, when he began participating in his father’s choir as a singer.

Micah Stampley and his lovely wife Heidi Stampley, are proud parents of a girl and 5 boys, namely: Mary (late), Brandon, Micah II, Adam, David and Desmond. The couple lost their 15year old daughter Mary, who died after experiencing seizure. Mary’s cause of death has not been made public. The sad news was broken on Micah Stampley’s Facebook page around midnight on October 22. The statement read,
“It is with a heavy heart that the Stampley family would like to announce the passing of their 15-year-old daughter, Mary Stampley.
Please my family in your prayers and respect our privacy as we deal with this traumatic event.” The press release added that Mary Stampley died “due to complications with a seizure.” The exact cause of the seizure was not revealed.

Mary Stampley is survived by her parents, as well as her five brothers, Brandon, Micah II, Adam, David and Desmond.
The Stampley family lives in Fayetteville, Georgia. In a 2016 interview, Micah Stampley said he doesn’t joke with the welfare of his children. The singer said in the interview that he was an assistant coach of his sons’ track club and also did basketball coaching. In a separate 2011 interview, Micah Stampley said that he was homeschooling his kids.

The singer disclosed in the interview saying, “People will want to multi-task you for their benefits. They want you to come here. They want to go there, but it is up to the individual to say no, I can’t do this or I can’t do that, because these three or four days are for my children.”
